This disease is transmitted during anal or vaginal sex and can also passed to the infected mother to her child during vaginal child birth. Men too have the risk of this infection if they involve with other men during anal sex.

In women these diseases infect the cervix and urinal canal (urethra). In men the symptoms are burning sensation during urination, itching and burning around the opening of penis. During the sexual intercourse between opposite sex they may get the infection in the rectum. The infection could also be found near the throat of men and women if the infected partner engages in oral sex.

The disease, Chlamydia can be cure with antibiotics. HIV positive persons should get the similar treatment as the HIV negative. People with Chlamydia must have STD test before engaging into sexual relationship. A single of azithromycin and doxycycline (2 times daily) are the most commonly used medicine for this disease.
